Bhavada devi memorial philanthropic trust 'SENEH'

Finances

Money Matters

A natural query which is bound to arise in the minds of the visitors to this website is where the trusts gets funds for achieving its humanitarian objectives and goals. Seneh is a public charitable Trust and it has been sustaining with the love and affection of the public in general and a few large hearted individuals and organisations. The Trust has not received any sustained Government or Institutional support so far. In addition, GIVE INDIA, a pan India crowd funding organization, is helping the trust substantially every month. Sun Valley Hospital, Guwahati is giving the resident free treatment and hospitalization for last three years. Assam Foundation North America is helping with regular contributions for approximately 50% of the medical expenditures towards medicines and payment to one of the nurses.

There are three individuals who had been supporting the cause with regular large donations.

The Chairman and founder of the Trust. In initial years, it was he, who entirely bore the financial burden. Even today he contributes regularly a good sum to the Trust.

Next is one executive of a multinational, a NRI, who has been regularly donating a good amount to the Trust for last eight years without fail.

Lastly an Industrialist and good Samaritan from Hyderabad who paid a chance visit to the Destitute Home four years back and was so moved by the efforts of Seneh, he started sending a good sum regularly to help Seneh.

There are similarly four main organizations that decided to adopt Seneh in whatever way they could.

Give India, a pan India organization that through its crowd funding platform has been helping us financially. On average, 25% of our monthly expenditures are courtesy of their efforts, They are also helping more than 100 such NGOs/ Trusts over India

Assam Foundation of North America, an NRI organization of Assamese diaspora through their ‘adopt a grand ma’ scheme has been footing approximately 60 % of our medical expenditures for the residents of Seneh since 2018.

SunValley Hospital of Guwahati had been providing free consultancy and hospitalization to those of our residents when needed since 2018.

Lions Club Care, Guwahati has been providing a substantial amount of free dry rations every month without fail for the last seven years.

We have requested these individuals and organizations to let the concerned readers know what prompted them to come forward to adopt Seneh. Their responses are appended subsequently.

The Trust has created a buzz for its tireless humanitarian works in and around Guwahati and its nearby areas. Every day, hordes of visitors and organizations visit ‘Seneh’. Impressed by its dedicated service, they leave behind small donations both in terms of cash and kindness, to boost the morale of the people behind. Strange but true, some of these people believe; that if they donate to Seneh, their wishes are fulfilled by God. The small donations alone cater to 10% of the monthly expenditures. A few of the organizations who had been regularly helping the Trust in whatever way they can are listed below:-

IAS officers wives Association, Guwahati

NathmalChirangilallJasrasaria Charitable Trust

Marwari JuvaManch, KamakhyaSakha

BarnaliMahilaSangh.

Airport Authority of India Lady Employees Association

Few individuals who are giving regular donations through monthly remittances are

PrasantaGogoi , Guwahati

NayanjyotiDeka, Bangalore

What made them
contribute to 'Seneh'

Seneh organisation which is rehabilitating old and destitute ladies which otherwise have no place to go to. I and my wife have visited the premises and appreciate the effort being made by this organisation without any interest and providing home to homeless. We are very happy for the effort and make a very small contribution to the herculean task which has been taken up by the organisation.

Mr. Amar Nath Gupta

Indutrialist, Hyderabad

There is a lot of pain and suffering in India. Fortunately there are a lot of good people who are doing something every day to alleviate this pain and suffering. Every one of those efforts is laudable. However I was attracted to Seneh because it was a cause to help destitute women. These women have all played the role of a mother, wife, caregiver, caretaker, homemaker and in many cases breadwinner at some point in their lives. They were the ones who showered their love and affection on others for most of their lives. And yet in the years when they should be the ones experiencing the reciprocation of all of the love and care they imparted, they were castaway either due to bad luck or due to the cruelty of the same people they loved and cared for. They deserve the dignity of a better life in the sunset years of their lives. Seneh gives them that love and care which makes it a very noble endeavor. I am very fortunate to be able to do a little something for Seneh
